Child Care Scholarships
10,000 Degrees provides child care scholarships ranging from $500 to $9,000 per child for parents who are enrolled in college. The scholarship pays for a portion of a child's day care while the parent is enrolled in college. The scholarship is renewable annually provided that the parent maintains satisfactory progress.
Eligibility:
- Marin County residency
- The parent must be attending an accredited or state-approved school and enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
- The parent must be working towards their first bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, license or certificate
- Children must be under the age of 11 and attending a licensed child care facility
- Demonstrate financial need
Application Requirements:
Applications are available through our website or in our San Rafael office.
- Complete Child Care Scholarship Application
- Proof of Enrollment form completed by applicant’s school
- Financial Aid form completed by applicant’s school
- Provider Verification Form completed by child care provider
- A copy of the child care provider’s license
- A W-9 form completed by the child care provider
- Applicant’s and spouse’s (if married) 2009 tax returns
- Incomplete applications cannot be reviewed. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all application materials are postmarked by the deadline.
Application Deadline:
- All applications for the Fall semester must be postmarked by September 1, 2010
- All applications for the Spring semester must be postmarked by January 1, 2010
- Applications will not be considered after the deadlines
